Carnival officially ends in Brazil on Wednesday. Among so many other great options of street Carnival parties, called “Blocos”, Super Mario Bloco is without a doubt one of the best of them. Created in 2012 and parading through the hillsides of Santa Teresa, downtown Rio since the beggining, the block does reinterpretation of songs present in the series of the most famous plumber game.
The blog has already been present in the first two editions of the event and attests: it is fun from beginning to end. Doubt it? See the Super Mario Bloco videos below from previous years. The people that usually follow the pack go dressed as characters from the series, but this is not in any way a rule. On Facebook, the organizers invited revelers to answer riddles related to the Mario universe to find the location of the parade, on Ash Wednesday. If you are in Rio, do not miss it!
