64% of the US passengers to cancel their trips to areas affected by the Zika virus

The Zika virus mosquito.A survey conducted by the travel risk management company On Call International found that about 64% of US respondents would cancel his trip to countries affected by zika virus.

The results are based on a Google Consumer survey of 1,934 US consumers aged 18 years or more.

About 69% of all female respondents said they would cancel their travel plans and 37% of women aged 25-34 were the most likely to cancel your trip, according to the survey.

The zika virus transmitted by mosquito is present in 23 countries and territories in the Americas. Brazil, the most affected country, reported around 3,700 cases of congenital malformation devastating called microcephaly, which are strongly suspected of being related to Zika.

Pregnant or may become pregnant within a month before visiting a country affected by Zika women should postpone their travel plans to avoid infection, said the head of the medical field of On Call International, Robert Wheeler said in a statement.
