Prolific Brazilian internet has came to a halt this first week of April 2017 due to a strange case that happened in Acre (that state underneath the Amazon)… Bruno Borges, a psychology student living in Rio Branco, the capital of Acre, mysteriously disappeared. Bruno was last seen on March 27, and since then many unexplained questions have been raised, since in the student’s room, instead of furniture, were left 14 encrypted books and a statue of the philosopher Giordano Bruno (1548-1600), a replica of the original that exists in Rome.
The video is impressive: the room walls were millimeterly written, with impeccable handwriting. Just like the furniture and the decor of the space. The statue of Giordano Bruno was valued at 20 thousand reais(about 5 thousand dollars) and was built by the Acrean sculptor, Jorge Rivasplata, 83 years old. In an interview with Globo, Jorge said that he believes that Bruno is the reincarnation of the philosopher honored in the statue and his books were to finish the work of Giordano, who was burned during the period of the inquisition.
According to the family in an interview, Bruno had an unusual intelligence and has always been interested in many matters involving philosophy. He had asked his mother to patent one of his books and said he was devoting himself to a written work that “will change the history of mankind.”
The disappearance of Bruno was only noticed when the student’s father entered the room and saw that nothing else looked like before: “I went in there and I did not see the bed, I did not see anything, I just saw it all. At that moment I saw that Bruno was gone,” Athos Borges told the G1. He and his wife, Bruno’s mother, had been traveling for 22 days and the student was at home in the company of the two brothers, Rodrigo Borges and Gabriela Borges.
For the Acre police, Bruno left the house voluntarily and this mystery is not a case involving criminal attitudes, such as a kidnapping. The investigation remains open to try to find out what happened to the student.
Several theories have already arisen about Bruno’s whereabouts and what the writings found are suspected of alchemy, psychological disturbances, involvement in sects and groups of hackers, witchcraft, and even alien abduction!
Bruno Borges has already earned the title of “Boy from Acre” in social networks. To further heat up the story, one of the pages of the encrypted books was also made available on the web. Hackers from the site “Decipher the Book” recognized the data and produced a “translation” of the material, following the idea of differentiated keyboard; See the photo and the message left by Bruno:

For thousands of years the human being has been trying to find answers to questions like ‘what is the meaning of life’? The philosophy which seems to have begun with Tales of Miletus in the middle of 700 BC seems to find traces of unanswered questions. The deep search for absolute truth comes from philosophy, and when we talk about easy or difficult paths we are referring to this type of theorem.
It is easy to accept what you have been taught since childhood and which is wrong. It is difficult, as an adult, to understand that you were wrongly taught what you suspected was correct since you were a child. In other words, if you fit into some of the stimuli of the environment, you determined a certain behavior, making it at the mercy of beliefs already provided and well established in dogmas and rituals, with a concentrated mass of people in it; Or allowing you to conform, accepting the concept of happiness and sense of life embedded in the media and society, then clearly you are part of the easy path to the quest for absolute truth.
Perhaps it fits into the second option, that is, the one who suspected every set of beliefs that was rooted to him, then he has everything to be a researcher of truthfulness in the things around him, entering a more complicated path, in which a minority Ventures or faces bravely. ”
Bruno’s family says they believes that the young man’s “exile” is part of his philosophical plans but fears for some trouble in his life. His mother, Denise said there is so much prayer for him that she sees him covered in divine light.
This whole story has caused an uproar at brazilian social networks, which have already spawned thousands of conspiracy theories.
