Thief caught jumping wall into house in Brazil the moment someone jumps into the pool

This picture of a thief jumping over the wall of a house with a gun in his hands in Guaruja, on the coast of the state of São Paulo, has been shared by thousands of netizens this week. The author of the image is a 19 year old student, who had no idea that it could help police clear up the crime. Besides the one seen in the photo, other two stormed into the residence. The suspects have been identified by police and one of them was arrested early on Tuesday, January 21st.

The young man, who declined to be identified, recalls that the suspect was photographed by coincidence, during a party with friends. “My boyfriend and I rented a house on the beach with some friends. We were at the pool listening to music and drinking, then I was taking a picture of my boyfriend jumping in the pool and I caught the thief over the wall by coincidence,” she says.

She says that nine people were in place at the time of the robbery and that, luckily, she was able to hide in a bedroom.

“The man jumped over the wall, rendered everyone and opened the gate for two accomplices, who were also armed. I could run into the house and hid behind a bedroom door. The thief came into the room, but did not see me. I was so terrified, that I did not think to call the police at that time, only after they were gone,” says the victim.

According to police, the three men took various objects such as mobile phones, digital cameras, watches, jewelry and cash. The only mobile phone that was not taken was the one belonging to the student who reveals she noticed the presence of the suspect in the photo the following day.
