The euphoria with Brazil has ended and foreign investors begin to show signs of concern about the frequency with which the government tries to impose their will for private companies. These are some of the rare comments that former Central Bank President Henrique Meirelles was allowed to do on the government of President Rousseff, since he left Brasilia. “I prefer to believe that (interventions) are reactions to the crisis and that the trend is back to normal,” he says. Back to the private sector, Meirelles is now Chairman of the Board of Directors of J & F Group, owner of the meat processor JBS, chairman of Franco-American investment bank Lazard and board member of Azul airlines. In this interview, he talks about the economy, andabout his new routine and said his next step might be to become an entrepreneur.
