Slums attract foreign investors in Rio

The Pacified slums of Rio de Janeiro(slums recently permanently occupied by the police) are being targeted by foreign investors. Safe, affordable and still the privileged view attract anyone building a business in the wonderful city.

It may be a more familiar, or else a unique space. The security around the place once known for violence brought luxury investment opportunity, as a hotel in one of the accesses to the Pavao-Pavãozinho slum in Ipanema.

The hotel opened last year. After a lot of searching, Benjamin and his French partner came to the conclusion that the way to save would be to rent a property close to a pacified favela. The view of the community only helped in the business.

Dutch, American, Brazilian... lived there for 5 years and owns property in Brazil. Out of the country for a few years now and would like to go back, however current circumstances tell me it's not the right time.
