Mary Alice lives with her mother, her daughter and granddaughter in a townhouse in Leme, very end of Copacabana beach in Rio, right at the entrance of a favela. To survive, she makes the most different types of works, even if they pass far from legality, but she knows that the only way to solve her problems is selling the house. The problem is that nobody wants to buy it, because of the proximity with the “favelas”. One day, Maria meets a friend who says his son is working as a realtor and has a foreigner crazy to buy a property in the city. She then receives the man, the very day the police invades the favelas, bringing terror to the mansion that also needs numerous repairs. Irreverent and lightweight, the film takes a contemporary and unpretentious chronicle of the South Zone of Rio, that is forced to live with diversity, far from the glamour it occupied when the city was the capital of Brazil.
Marieta Severo, brazilian actress, displays a youthful portrayal of the protagonist Maria Alice, a woman full of nuances and with very unique features.
