Brazil, liberal in many ways, but topless not allowed

The first Saturday of summer, on June 21, promises to be controversial. A colective topless demonstration was scheduled to happen at Ipanema Beach in with an event that has been posted on Facebook by actress and theater producer Ana Rios and the student Bruna Oliveira, both 23 years old. The protest has also won echo throughout the country. Ana regard being prepared similar demonstrations in public squares in the cities of São Paulo, Vitória, Espírito Santo, and Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul:
To the proportion that the demonstration is taking, security is something that is already worrying Ana, who confirmed having received over a thousand macho and aggressive messages.

According to Ana, the idea of the movement is to propose “a reflection on where’s the symbolism of the woman’s body in today’s society.” Ana believes that the practice of topless is individual and does not harm anyone.

Not to be a police matter. There are many major problems. Just goes topless whoever wants to. But in Brazil, there is the whole question of the cult of the body, but the breasts are seen in a criminalized way.
